I completely agree. This technology would be completely useless, especially
with the number of circumstances that cause our dog's heart rates to go up.

It wouldn't even be useful to first-time handlers. Most first-time handlers
have experience with pets, and even if you're like me and you never had a
single dog, it isn't hard to rely on the senses to understand how your dog
is feeling or what they need. And as I and Cindy said, there are a gamut of
situations and stimuli that cause an increase in heart rate and respiration.
It's not information that you can use to make a decision without the given
context and your dog's body language. There's no way to circumvent the
nonverbal aspect of language with these animals.
