No, that is not acceptable. The dog is no threat in that instance and is
under your control. Legally, the dog can go with you there same as an
examining room.

Subject: [NAGDU] Is this acceptable

I had blood drawn at my doctor's office this morning. My husband drove me
over and I took Emma. When I was called back the woman who drew the blood
told me I would have to leave my dog with my husband.
I asked her why and she said it was a sterile environment. I told her it
had neer happened to me before. She then said there wasn't room for the
dog. She also said pets weren't allowed in there and I told her my dog was
not a pet. My husband did keep the dog and I plan to make a complaint to an
administrator but I want to know if I am correct in my thinking. What would
have happened if my husband was not there?
