We put her on long long leash, I did not beep but she did, but because I was connected to her by holding the leash they said they had to pat both of us down. Fun times! *smile*

If you put the dog at rest and call her through after you've gone, putting
her on the long leash, they may not have to pat you down.

One of the trainers was with me when we went through security, and they
advised me to hold the leash, go through first, then have the dog go
through. They ended up patting both the dog and me down. I guess it depends
on the team. I will probably always hold her leash and deal with the
pat-downs.

Morgan,
I flew home from GEB after attending class there. We were a month-old team,
and still, when I when through airport security, I left my dog in a sit-stay
as I went through the scanner, then called him through.
It is important for the dog to go through separately, since their collar,
leash, and harness (if you leave it on) will likely set off the scanner due
to their metal components.
I understand your concerns, but your dog shouldn't have an issue with
staying and obeying commands in the presence of distractions. The likelihood
of anyone bothering your dog during the brief time in a security line is
almost negative.

Strangely, my dog has gone through some scanners without setting them off.
They probably weren't working correctly.

A wooden or plastic cane would help going through the scanner. It would be
nicer than having a person guide you. Security agents make things far more
clumsy, awkward, and complicated than they need to be.
