[nagdu] Destructo dog when not supervised

When Krokus is not supervised, he frequently looks for something to chew
up, which is almost never his toy. I'm not sure if it's a reaction to
being alone, or just taking an opportunity when it is presented, and I'm
not sure it matters. All I know is I'm nervous about leaving him alone,
so I make him follow me around the house, or get my husband to watch him,
or put him in his crate.
Spring has to come sometime, and, when it does, I want to be outside
working in my garden. I want to teach Krokus to be good even when I'm not
around, if such a thing is possible. I'm not too keen on him spending
most of the summer in his crate. And what does he learn sitting in there,
anyway?
But I don't know what to do, or if I just have to wait for the young idiot
to grow up a bit. He's getting better, but he's still not trustworthy.
This is not really what I signed up for, but it's what I've got, and he
has many fine qualities.
