[nagdu] Home alone

Hi,

I agree with Debbie. Tracy is not doing anything wrong and she isn't being
cruel to her dog. There is nothing wrong with leaving our guide dogs home
alone. There are just some situations where it isn't practical to take a
dog. I'd say that going out dancing is one of those times. Although I've
never used a crate, it is a matter of choice. Each handler has to decide
what is best for them and their own dog. I've been fortunate that none of
my dogs needed a crate. When I went to Pilot to get Eva, I was a bit
disturbed to find they had crates in the rooms instead of tie-down chains.
I don't like crates so, I chose not to use it with Eva. I do think we all
have to respect the opinions of others to choose what is right for them and
their dog.

Sandra and Eva

There are places that I will not take Neena anymore. Last year I took her
to Pig Out in the Park. Never again! Unless ow get a basket Muzzle for her,
that is. She had only been home with me a month, so maybe she would be a
little better this summer. And occasionally my husband and I like to just
have "date night" with my husband. This is rare, but Neena doesn't go on
date night.
And she stays in her crate because she gets into mischief. I don't think
I'm being cruel to her. She has her bone in there, the Tv on, and usually
Flounder the cat nearby for company. And sometimes Lamar, who gets on the
bed. (Being retired does have privileges). So leave Tracy alone. She is
not doing anything
wrong. Debby
