[nagdu] Sidewalk-less walking?

Hey, guys!

For those I have spoken to or who've seen this before... sorry for the repeat!
My new job is on a road with NO sidewalks (like, NONE!) This is approximately a 4-block stretch from bus stop to office (much MUCH longer than any sidewalk-less walking we've ever done) and it seems that Jenny is stressed by this. Getting to work seems to be OK (she hugs the curb edge and is fine with cars approaching us from behind), but getting out of work, she seems more distracted and apt to pull and acting unsure while walking on the grass (cars are parked along the road and traffic would be coming toward us if they weren't). On Monday, I plugged in my GPS and just let her guide to see what she would do. We weaved through mostly parking lots and a bit of grass and got to the corner safely, and Jenny was not super stressed. But today after work, we walked exclusively along the grass because there were so many cars parked on the street, Jenny chose not to go through the parking lots, and Jenny was very stressed by this (pulling, distracted, just wanting to get us out).
So, short of just muddling through this, any pointers, advice? We've done some sidewalk-less travel, both in training and since, but this is by far the longest route like this. I've had it suggested that Jenny just isn't confident yet working through this situation, and there's a lot of truth to that... but would love pointers from people who've made that transition, what they found helpful, didn't find helpful, and just let me talk through it :)

Daryl
