I don't have hearing loss (or so my last hearing test said), but 
the lady who did the testing explained some things to me.  She 
said that even though my hearing is normal, as we get older our 
ability to process sounds slows down.  I've always been the one 
that crowds didn't bother, in fact I liked being out and about 
and among lots of people.  I still do, but sometimes if it's 
really noisy I start to feel overwhelmed.  I have to take a deep 
breath and tell myself that everything is okay.  I suppose in 
fifteen or twenty years, I'll have to make some really major 
changes, but for now I'm living the life I want.  (Smile).
