Hi every one, Mardi here. Today I noticed that Shulamith is limping. It is
her left front leg. Some times my dogs play rough and I frequently need to
go out with them to keep things from getting too rough.I don't know if she
pulled a mussel when playing or if it might be something more devastating,
like Valley Fever. If she is still limping tomorrow, I will have to take
her to the vet to get checked out. I am hoping it is not Valley Fever,
which is a spore that lives in the ground in the south west. The dogs
inhale the spores and where ever they loge is where they cause problems. My
first guide,Lily got it in her lungs and then in her pancreas and that is
what killed her. Wanagi is the dog I was training to be my 3 guide, but was
washed out of training due to Valley Fever in her lungs and in one of her
eyes. She has lost the sight in that eye. I am really hoping that Shulamith
does not have Valley Fever. Some dogs can be put on the medication and then
can be off of it and show no signs of illness, but others need to be on the
medication for the rest of their lives. This medication is very expensive.
I will keep you updated as to what the vet finds. Mardi and
Shaman,retired and Neechee and Shulamith,GDIT.
