2Everyone doesn't get the sender in the cc: field, so that suggestion would
likely not work.

Subject: [nagdu] Suggestions for list moderator/webmaster ab sending to
individuals

    Hi Marsha, Dave & all,
Just a thought about the trouble with high traffic on the list. I agree with
the idea that short answers should go solely to the sender in most cases,
and I am starting to do that. The problem is that the process is cumbersome
and not intuitive, and I don't remember it being spelled out on the list. I
could be wrong, of course, because I can't read all of the posts, but a lack
of compliance may have more to do with misunderstanding than intent.

Anyway, two suggestions. First, maybe Marsha's emails on the subject could
include the following:

Block quote
To send your reply to the individual only, do the following:
1. Use reply all
2. Remove/delete NAGDU mailing list from the "To" field 3. Cut the
individual's email address from the "CC" field 4. Paste the individual's
email address into the "To" field 5. Write your message.
6. Send your message.
Block quote end

The second suggestion would be for Dave. Do you have the ability to set the
list up so that Reply All would only send to the individual? If not, can you
put it so that the sender's email is at least in the To field, where one
would only have to delete the NAGDU list address, which would be a couple
less steps? Or, could you set it up so that replying would go to the
individual and not the group, and reply all would go to the group and the
individual?

I'm not sure what others would prefer, but I think the list, as it is set
up, makes it more difficult to do the very thing that would reduce traffic.
HTH,
Donna & Hunter
