Hi,
I am a GDF grad, and although the ownership is important. I am not sure if this what truely happens all of the time. For example, when I was in class, the subject of ownership came up, I was very clear about my intentions. Others in my class, didn't care, so ownership was not granted right away. I don't think that GDF would hold it against anyone not to grant ownership. I would hope that if a trainer, saw some issues while in training, that instead of granting or not granting wondership, they would recommend more training. I can honestly say, that I have NEVER heard of anyone receiving a guide or service animal from GDF without owndership that did not want it.

When you were asking for information about different schools, I am not sure you received as much about GDF as you should have. I am a former grad from TSE, and although they are a good school, I could not go back for a number of reasons. I am not bashing one school over another. But like I said, you could be getting way way more information about a school, then just from this list. I know, I know, I know, the moderator *gasp* saying this. But its true. Jenine Stanley from GDF is on this list, if you wouuld like further information. I don't know who you spoke to at GDF, but like I said, if you want ownership, and you fulfill the requirements of the training program, then you will receive ownership. If you received a guide from TSE, then I am sure you will. Its nothing to be worried about.

Just my two cents, back to my moderator rock. LOL

I don't know what tools or measures they utilize for making that determination, but there you have it for anybody else that goes down this road after me. I'm wondering whether I should put up something like a Wiki page that will compare the various school policies...this type of thing would allow the community to propose updates to it and it would try to avoid stagnancy...I'll need to consider this a bit to figure out the best avenue for going about this, but what I'm realizing is that there isn't a truly easy way to compare the various school policies that is not out of date.
