Just wanted to let all of you know that Bailey and I have been contending
with a continuing problem of a lesion on her lower eyelid that is going into
her eye. She had another lesion on her upper eyelid last year that was
removed and was not malignant. She has been to an animal ophthalmologist and
has been treated with an antiinflammatory ointment, but after 2 weeks, not
much improvement. A surface biopsy showed inflammatory cells, but no cancer.
She is now on oral antibiotics and continuing the antiinflammatory
medication for 2 more weeks. If the wound has not significantly improved,
they will then take a deep tissue biopsy. It still could be malignant, since
it hasn't responded. Surgically correcting this would involve significant
eyelid reconstructive surgery. I'm trying not to cross bridges until I get
to them, but I am really concerned. Also, financially this is quite an
expensive endeavor as well. Bailey is still very active, loves to work, no
signs of cataracts, very little arthritis and she is 12 years old. I ask for
your continued thoughts and prayers. Thank you.
