Hi Helga,

The Guide Dog Foundation has what we call Celebration Sunday. It is not a graduation ceremony per say but a time to meet your dog’s raisers if they are able to join us and the people who sponsored your dog if they can come. the Celebration is an afternoon with a short program where we show slides and video of you and your dog during class, including a picture when you meet the dog. Then people have time to sit and talk with the raisers and sponsors. It’s very casual.

You asked about the application. Our web site has a Request for Application form on it which gives us your basic info. Please go to www.guidedog.org and fill it out. Then we will send you the full application packet which includes:

General application
Information Release form
Medical form
O&M Report
Reference Information (You will need 3 references not directly related to you.)
Video guidelines (You will need to make a video for us.)

If you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me at jenine at guidedog.org

I'm just wondering since I'm thinking in applying there in order to get my first guide dog! even though I live in Florida guys! And also, can some of you tell me how is the application process? In other words, what are the requirements. I'm just wondering as well! I will really appreciate it a lot! I apologize for asking you this silly question! LOL! Hope to hear form you soon. Thanks so much and God bless! :)
