[nagdu] Introducing myself

Hello Everyone,

I have been on this list for about a month and I thought I would finally
introduce myself. 

I am from the Boston Massachusetts area. I am currently working my fourth
guide dog, a female yellow lab named Lexi. She and all of my other dogs have
been from Guiding Eyes for the Blind in New York. Although I love having a
guide dog, I also keep up my cane skills. You never know when you'll have to
use a cane.

In addition to being totally blind, I have  a pretty significant hearing
loss. With the correction of two hearing aids, I am able to hear well.
However, I have great difficulty with sound location. This makes it a
challenge to cross busy and complicated intersections. Sometimes crossing
streets means asking for assistance for me. However, I am very independent
and love to travel with Lexi all around Boston using the subway and other
means of public transportation. 

I have had Lexi for three years and I just love working with her. She has a
phenomenal work ethic and most importantly, she loves working in the busy
city.
