Keep in mind that eleven is quite old for a dog. The school is just looking
out for what is best for the dogs and people.

Hi all! Yes, I heard regarding the Southeastern guide dog school policy. I
don't like the idea either that the dogs need to retire at age 11. I think
they should when they feel that they can't work anymore. In fact, I think
the dog will let me know when he or she does not want to work anymore guys!
What do you think? Just to let you know, this is actually my plan! I'm
actually thinking in applying to Southeastern guide dog school this July in
order to get my first dog! And I really don't know what could happen in
eleven years by now, but if it come the case when my dog is 11 years old and
he istill want to work, I'm not goign to retire him untill he lets me know
guys! And I know about the policy of the school,I'm actually thinking in
violating it! LOL! Perhpas they will take the hardness away or something,
but i am not goign to retire my dog if he still wants to work guys! Hope to
hear from you soon. Thanks so much and God bless!
