Shade is key if you go to the beach. Your dog may, or may not, like the water. Mine do, so we frequently swim together and my dog lays in the shallows to cool off. When we are not in the water, she lays in the shade with me or on a towel.

I may look in to the musher's secret. We will also be on the beach so I know the sand will be pretty hot. Are there any tips or advie for this type of situation?

>>> Hi Danielle, definitely get your dog a pair of good booties. There are all kinds out there, and lots of opinions about the best ones to use. I personally really like the Ruffware booties that Seeing Eye provides. But others have their favorites. The important thing is to get them now, and start having your dog wear them so that she gets used to them. At first, the dogs don't necessarily like having them on. And depending on the kind of bootie you get, they can be a little difficult to get on at first. Hope this helps. Debby and Nova who doesn't mind her booties.
