Hi Tracy, well, Artemis was allergic to so many things, so we did
the shots, some medication to help him when his allergies seemed
the worst, and he ate duck and potato kibble. Expensive stuff,
too. He could work okay, but the medicine tended to make him a
little depressed. Then he got attacked by the dog in our
neighborhood. What Seeing Eye said when they came to visit was
that the medicine tended to make him a little depressed, not
quite feeling up to par, and then the dog attack just exacerbated
his mood, and he started lunging at other dogs, which was the
main reason I retired him. We would have dealt with his
allergies, even though it was expensive. Both Craig and I were
working and Craig had been an EMT so was familiar with giving
shots, plus he had also given shots to cattle. Back then the
medicine was not available orally and I was terrified of the idea
of me giving him shots. Lol.

It's a tough decision that you are going through, Tracy. Even if
you cleaned your house daily, washed his bed covering daily,
there would still be mites. And everywhere you go, it seems that
there is grass of some sort. No one would blame you if you sent
him back. But that's a hard decision to make. If he is able and
willing to work, and you want to deal with all the allergy stuff,
go for it. But if you feel that you just can't do it, that
you're having to change your lifestyle too much, then by all
means, you should send him back. For what it's worth, I totally
support you in whatever your decision turns out to be. Peace,
Debby and Nova
