I think it depends on the situation.  If it's a sterile environment, where people wear masks and gowns, then the dog wouldn't be allowed.  Other places she might be.
When my dad was in the respiratory ICU Stepdown, I asked the nurse if I could bring the dog, and she said that would be fine.  Turned out Dad had friends popping in and out all the time.  But, if the dog would have been a problem, I would have understood.

Hello there,

On this same subject if I take my dog to the hospital when my mother has surgery can they refuse her in prep?  I don’t know the laws on this.
