Four weeks? Yikes!
Ironically, as hard as Jenny and I have worked to get all of this under control, I'm still willing to work with my dog. This year in particular has been worse than most, according to many allergy sufferers I have spoken with. If things don't improve this winter like I think they will, I will consider retiring her. Thankfully the most recent slight rain has almost eliminated the biting paws thing...

If my dog had a condition that made him unable to work for 4 weeks, and the
condition was ongoing, like allergies, I'd look for another solution that
would let him work, or seriously consider retiring him so he could live
where he's comfortable and I could get a dog who could work where I live.
It may seem harsh, but I have a guide dog so he can guide me, and, if that's
not working out, then something has to change.

Hello there,

I had my dog get an allergy shot here about a month ago and it worked
wonders. She was super tired though so guiding was out of the question for
about four weeks. Her poor allergies are terrible just like her Daddy.
