[nagdu] Medical transportation.

If the dog is under your control (which it would be), if the dog is not a
direct threat to anyone, and if taking the dog is not an undue burden to the
company/driver, then they must modify any policies they would have to allow
you to go on the van with your mother. I doubt that it is an issue, but go
out there assuming it's not and it will likely go well for you.

I'd just get on the vehicle with your dog, but if
you feel that can't happen, have a cane ready and someone as backup to take
care of your dog while you're gone.

Thank you all for the comments on this. Julie, I actually understood what
you were saying the first time /smiles/.
One other thing that I'm not sure of. What if the driver flat out refuses to
take me and my dog, what would be the best thing to do? Just get on anyways,
after educating the driver? Or should I just leave my dog at home and use my
cane, and then report the driver to the company?
I will just walk out to the vehicle with confidence and my head held high. I
will let you all know how things go. Again, thanks to everyone for your
encouraging thoughts on this.
Deanna

What I was trying to say earlier is that in addition to it being
discriminatory to Deanna, it is also discriminating against her mother,
because of her association with Deanna.

Here's my take FWIW:

Could they deny you access if you used crutches or a walker? Could they say
you can't come on board because of some other device that assists in your
disability? That to me would be disability-based discrimination.

I think the same would apply to you being denied access because you have a
vision aid (i.e., a guide dog). So the guide dog is representative of your
disability. If they would give you access without your disability, to deny
you access because of your disability (in the form of your vision aid/guide
dog) is illegal discrimination.

But I'm not a lawyer, so take that into consideration.
