I use Nexgard, too. So far it is working well for us, though I have never
had any trouble with Frontline Top Spot. The dogs hate that though, it I
have always wondered if it was getting through to the skin. Apparently it is
because we haven't had fleas for years.

Hi Rox,
I have been using Frontline, but when I took Mambo to the vet the other day
for another urine test, the vet said she saw flea dust on him. So, I am
going to be switching to Nexgard, which is a chewable tablet to protect
against fleas and ticks. Even with help, I have difficulty applying
Frontline to Mambo, most of it doesn't reach the skin, but stays on top of
his fur. He is still very squeamish (for some reason) and one person has to
distract him, while the other puts on the Frontline. I think that's why it
isn't as effective, since it's not penetrating his skin. It will be a lot
easier to give him a chewable, since he will think it's a treat. I hope that
Nexgard will be more effective. Although it is made by the same company as
Frontline. But, you may want to look into it.
Deanna

Hi y'all,
I live in the south, flea heaven and use flea meds year round. I'm using
advantage but like to change up the meds from time to time. However,
Frontline, the other med I have used, is not effective any more as I've seen
from personal experience and have also heard from vets and handlers alike in
the south.
I'd be curious to know what else people use? I'd like to have more options
than just the advantage.
I have used, and continue to use Essential oils but we really need something
stronger here. I can control my home, and to some degree my office, but we
have wild cats and rats in most neighborhoods and they carry fleas.
Thanks for any suggestions anyone has.
