[nagdu] Guides at NFB training centers

I believe that it has made
some difference. There was a
time when there weren't any
guide dog users in the
centers. Then there was only
one. Then the others came
into line so to speak. I
think that we have a long way
to go. I believe that the
pollecies will never be
perfect and will never please
everyone. Like you make a
choice to get a dog, you make
the personal decision to go or
not to go to a center.

Warmly,
Melissa R. Green and Pj
It is 'where we are' that
should make all the
difference, whether we believe
we belong there or not.

I don't wish to throw cold
water, but NAGDU has been
"dialoguing" with the
NFB centers since we learned
about center policies,
sometime in the early
'90's, or even late '80's, and
I haven't heard of any
significant change in
center policies in all that
time. Yeah, I've been a NAGDU
member for a very
long time now, and even an
officer. Which reminds me,
gotta wander over and
pay my dues.
Anyway, so far as I can see,
all the discussion hasn't made
much policy
difference.
Tracy
