Lisa,
You can put a solid lump of coconut oil in the ear and it will melt.
It's like butter. It only stays solid at or below room temperature,
which your dog's body temp is well above.
I just insert a piece of coconut oil in the ear with my fingers, then
massage it into the ear canal.
