The schools will teach you how to reinforce the training the dog has. Holly does sleep on the floor at night even though she lounges on the bed during the day.

Hey Amanda, I got my yellow fellow from the Seeing Eye. Although I don’t permanently live with pets, my parents, whom I spend a good bit of time with, have three large dogs, who are the most disobedient, spoiled brats ever. /smiles/ They jump on couches, beg for food, and exhibit other poor behavioral habits. I just enforce the rules with my dog. He knows: only on the bed with permission, absolutely no human food, and only on the couch when given permission. No jumping, no barking, and no biting. He is a model citizen compared with his buddies. As for asking the school, don’t worry about it. It’s your decision what to do with your pets, and, ultimately, your dog. Whether you let them on the furniture is up to you, and the school shouldn’t fault you on it. They may discourage you from doing certain things with the dog, but that’s only their opinion.
