Hi All,
I am not on much because I have a slug for a computer and alot of stuff I
don't have time to read anymore.

But I wanted to fill you all in on my new dog.  As you know, I had to
finally retire Oliver in early May 2016 and I returned to TSE in the June
class.  On July 14, 2016, I returned to California with my new dog.  He is a
light-colored Lab/Golden cross named Aristotle.  I call him Ari for short. 
Ari is 22 inches tall and weighs around 61 lbs.  He turns two on September
1, 2016.  He is a wonderful worker but likes to act like i never feed him! 
During training, we went to NYC and walked through a street fair where Ari
spied a kid sitting on the curb eating food.  Ari decided to sample some and
the kid's father laughed as the kid got a funny look like "Hey! That's my
food!"  Ari got a stiff correction for his efforts.  I was with my trainer,
Chris Mattoon and we did chuckle about it afterwards as Chris told me about
the Dad laughing.  So, that is something I have to be very aware of ---
Where there may be food at a certain Ari's mouth level!

Ari also likes other dogs alot and he is still getting corrected for that
distraction.  But he is a very good dog in spite of his childish antics.  He
has a good memory for places I go to alot and is eager to go to new places
and meeting new people.  And best of all - NO BARKING!  He enjoys the bus
and trolley rides and he sleeps.  He loves car rides, too.  I find him a
better match than Oliver was.

Speaking of Oliver, he is retired in a rural town I lived in back in the
1990s where my Mom and brother's family live.  Oliver went to a friend of my
brother's neighbor's friends a five minute car ride away.  There's an active
mom and dad and 4 kids to actually wear him out.  The kids are home schooled
so Oliver is rarely left alone.  The kids read to him while doing their
school work and he gets lots of running and playing.  He's in doggy heaven!

I did the right thing for Oliver and I am now very happy with Aristotle!
