[NAGDU] Juno, was leader dog for the blind denile

Way back at the beginning of the guide dog movement, people felt the fake
dog needed its own name, so they called her Juno, after the Goddess Juno,
who is the goddess of marriage, among other things. Thus, the name Juno can
be thought of as a symbol of loving partnership, which seems very
appropriate to me.
This is according to Love in the Lead, which has a lot of the early history
of The Seeing Eye. Since The Seeing Eye was the first American guide dog
school, its early history is the history of the beginnings of guide dogs in
the U.S. Fascinating stuff, if you're into history, and very readable.

A juno walk is a walk with an instructor that simulates working a guide dog.
You are instructed on how to hold the handle and leashe, and you get to
learn about pace, and the amount of pull you want in your dog. Is it exactly
the same as working a dog, no, however it helps a lot, and it helps the
instructor in giving you the best match possible. It also enables the
instructor to give the client immediate feedback on what they are doing well
with, and what they can improve upon.
I do not know why it is called a juno walk, just the term they use I guess.
