[NAGDU] Juno, was leader dog for the blind denile

Tracy and all,

I'm such an oldtimer that Mr. Debetaz  (pronounced Duhbaytuh) was at Seeing
Eye when I was in my very first class. I can remember him always greeting us
at the beginning of each day in his heavy Swiss accent and his rousing and
cheery voice saying, "Good mawning  students and litla dogs!" He made a big
impression on every student, and apparently the dogs as well. My dog and I
went home from the school in early September. Close to Christmas Seeing Eye
sent out their annual Christmas greetings as they still do by CD or online.
But back then, the greeting was in the form of...yes, a record! My dog was
with me when I played it, and when Mr. Debataz came on with that familiar
greeting, my dog jumped up and began barking and looking around...that was
so great! My husband and I still laugh about it. Good memories!

Or you can read it in braille, also available on BARD, and work out your own
pronunciations.  Though I bet Debetaz beats most people--it did me, until I
met an old-timer graduate.

Thank you Tracy, I've read Love in the Lead, but apparently I missed that
little tidbit. For those interested it can be found on Bard. The narator is
decent, even though he butchers some Pronunciations.
