If you go to the ADI web site, there are dozens of accredited schools listed
for all kinds of disabilities: hearing alert, seizure, mobility, all kinds
of task trained dogs.

Hi David, I'm sure there are other schools that provide trained service
dogs, but the only one I know about is Canine Companions.  
I believe they are in California, but I wouldn't swear to that.  
I'm assuming though that they have a website.  Unfortunately I also know
that they have long waiting lists.  As for labs and goldens being too
attractive, well, there is something to be said for that, but they also have
the nature that would allow them to do such work.

Occasionally I've been asked questions like this, too.  Although I don't
want to get into the habit of telling people with other disabilities who
need dogs what they ought to do or not do, (because most of the time ow
really don't know), it would be nice 
to have a list of places ow could tell people about.    Debby and
