Pilot needs the student to get to a port of entry in the USA. Then they
will pay the rest of their transportation from the port of entry to Pilot.

don't know what sort of arrangements ere made. I know that Seeing eye has
had students living abroad, but the cases I know of, they were transplanted
Americans. (Canada, pretty much all the schools work with as a matter of
course.) I have heard that Pilot will accept international students. I
suspect in all cases except Canada, that the international student will most
likely be responsible for transport to and from the US, but I have
absolutely no concrete data on this.

>> Hi Lisa,The short answer to your question is, Yes, but it depends. While I
was at Leader Dogs For The Blind in 2000 training with LD Sequoia there were
twelve students from Spain. In 2003 while I was training with LD Patriot
there were two students from Israel. Fellow graduates have regaled me with
stories of Canadians being part of their class. The longer answer is for
you, or your friend to contact the school, or schools of your choosing and
ask. The worst they can do is say "no"
