[NAGDU] Guide dog from the US

This really does not matter. I want this topic dropped. And I don't think
that is exactly the way of it. A german citizen cannot just call up a guide
dog school and say they want to go there.
This is *NOT on topic.

Danielle said it poorly, so let me try to explain
what I think she's trying to say.
First, she's trying to say that a person living in the U.S. can't call up a
guide dog school in say Germany and obtain a dog. In contrast, a German
citizen could call up a guide dog school here and probably attend training.
Secondly, Danielle is saying that she is hesitant to do business outside
this country because she's not sure which laws would apply. Many companies
and individuals get into trouble when they do business in other countries
where bribes or gifts are expected. We don't use bribes or gifts in the
United States, but in many countries this is just a routine business
practice.
As for marrying someone from another country, she is correct in that both
parties would want to be very sure what the laws regarding property and
children are concerned. People who are blind, as well as women would do well
to know how they would be treated if the marriage ended. Everybody wants to
believe that the person they marry would act the way they would when the
marriage was good. There is a reason custody and property law is such big
business, and that a passport requires the signature of both parents if the
couple is not married.
Nobody has to like or agree with Danielle. Unless you want to marry her or
do business with her, her oppinions won't effect you.

I know that we are having a wave of xenophobia here in the U.S., but this is
probably the most bizarre post I've seen on NAGDU. People from other
countries must think we're lunatics.
