We just went through a similar thing with our local hospital.

they require that all therapy dogs be registered with them.  You have to go through an entire process for that.

I was at the ER with my husband and the security guard told me I couldn’t bring my dog in there without it being registered, and he honestly thought it was for all service dogs!

I called and straightened it out and they did more staff education, but confusion is always a possibility with staff and the general public.
