[NAGDU] Male dog spraying himself & urine odor

Why do schools encourage the puppy walkers-raisers to have male dogs squat? That is the first thing I discourage. Lift that leg high and proud, so there is less urine on the fur.

My Baxter always smelled even with the lifting of the leg. Then I touched his front leg and discovered which one was wet.

Try baby wipes to get rid of the Frito feet, grin.

Janice, I had a male Golden who did this routinely which was how I started religiously taking off the harness for him to relieve. Yeah, ick.

About the only thing you can do is to wipe both legs with a wet paper towel.

That dog’s successor did lift his leg but he was small and short coupled and would often get urine on the inside of the leg he’d lifted. Let’s not even talk about all the urine they get on their paws.

Welcome to male dogdum.

He squats and frequently sprays one of his front legs because he does not squat down far enough according to the trainer. Because I never know when or which leg he might hit unless he smells of urine, I do not know what do other than to wipe his legs after each time he relieves. However, does anyone have any other suggestions or ideas about getting rid of the smell?
