[NAGDU] Quick question regarding my seeing eye dog

I don't think the step is because of boredom. That seems more like the
angle. But there might be other indications of boredom.

Hi Haley,
It could be she's bored with the route, but it could also be something to do
with the angled step. My parents have wooden steps, and Mopsy slipped once
and has since been afraid to walk down the steps from the second floor to
the first floor unless I'm walking right with her, but she doesn't have
problems with any other steps. Has your dog have problems with this step
before? Is there another way outside you could use, even if it's just to
test if she's stopping there too? You could also try taking the leash in
your right hand and sort of tugging forward in front of her nose--like in
the direction you want her to be moving. A Seeing Eye instructor showed me
this when I was having problems with Mopsy stopping because she was getting
bored, and it's worked wonders. Hope this is helpful.

Subject: [NAGDU] Quick question regarding my seeing eye dog

Hey all!!
I have a quick question. My dog has been having a tendency, as of late, to
hesitate going down my front step, and it takes a lot of coaxing and
sometimes a collar coax to convince her to go. The step goes down at an
angle, so could she be afraid because of that. This also happens as we walk
down my driveway but once we're on the sidewalk to do our route, she's
totally fine. As she's guiding me to my parents parked car which is in the
driveway, she's ready to go, as she knows we'll be venturing to another area
to work other than my neighborhood. Is this her way of showing me that
she's getting bored of the small route we take in my neighborhood every day?
Lol she's golden otherwise.
