There is also a spray made from peppermint and cloves that repels fleas and ticks. It has a very pleasant smell. It is from Vets Bets and I get it on Amazon but it is available other places to

So the compromise is that I keep the dogs outside for a while after spraying them for the strongest cedar smell to dissipate. I also try to do it when he's not home. The strong smell really only lasts a bit.

I absolutely cannot be around any amount of cinnamon oil. I went back to the cedar spray with Jetta with no problems. Whatever her thing was, she is over it.

Sadly, though, I haven’t found any so called natural alternatives that I feel comfortable using. I want to be as certain as possible that my dog is pest free!
