[NAGDU] Staying together

Hi,

I have taught all my dogs to find a person. I especially found it useful
this past year when out with both my elderly parents. Both of them have
minor memory issues and would often walk off without letting me know where
they were. I was very glad to be able to ask Eva to find mom or dad or
sometimes both of them who had taken off in two different directions. Then
Eva would have to first find one and then the other. Fortunately she is an
easy going fun loving dog and loved the challenge of locating her lost
grandparents. It is actually kind of fun teaching the dogs to find people.
They soon get to enjoy the challenge. In that case I do let the person give
the dog a pet on the head as a reward for the dog finding the person you
have lost. You could also use treat as a reward too.

Dar's solution sounds good. He should be close enough that he won't get
slammed, with his hand on my shoulder. Next time it comes up, I'll ask if
he wants to try that.
Tami, I'm still working on clearance issues with Krokus. I let him get a
bit casual. He's sharpened up considerably, but still can't walk beside
someone without being confused by it, I think.
I bet I could teach him to find Jerry though, and that could be quite
useful.
Tracy

Jim puts his hand on my shoulder using his cane to protect the rite side.
She doesn't feel she is guiding two persons.
