[NAGDU] {Spam?} Handle signs, and more on how to get my dog disengaged from people

Tracy,

Sometimes a cold tone and flat expression while saying, "He's working,"
does the trick. Otherwise, ignoring the person and directing the dog to
leave it and go forward, or praise for the dog for not engaging also
gets the message across. I think I've heard myself say, "Just let him do
his job," or the like. "Leave him alone" would also work as a positive
directive, especially with a clipped tone.

With people who are extra dense and blocking my path so I can't just
dodge around them, I use long-winded technical explanations in a
lecturing tone to inspire them to find other entertainment. /lol/ By
that time, I'm usually having happy fantasies of whipping my folded cane
out of my pocket and whacking them with it, but I'm pretty sure that
wouldn't turn out so well in reality. So I just annoy them into leaving.
Whatever works, I guess.

I used to feel like I was being rude and all that. Then one day it
occurred to me that people who interfere with my dog are being rude,
possibly putting me in danger and also adding stress to my dog. So I
don't need to be nice in that case. I just need to end the interference.
If people approach politely and ask if they can say hi to the dog, then
I talk to them politely. And so on.
