[NAGDU] WAS: Service dog license, IS:All in the family....

I agree with all this. When we get the dog, first timers are learning the
technique of using their dog and they are learning about the dog. The dog is
having its finals. Then when we go home, we use what techniques we learned,
or the ones we refreshed while at the schools, to refine our dogs and mold
them into the dog we want. We have the raw materials that we are working
with--our dog, what we know about it, and our own ability. The training is
never done, and as owners, we sure are training our dog to be what we want
it to be.

Wayne,

Right on! In fact, what do we really learn at guide dog schools? I believe
two things. First we learn how to become dog trainers. Second, we learn how
to build and lead affective teams.

Best Regards,

Time to throw a fox amongst the hens... AKA: Some food for thought....You do
all realize that ALL Service Animal Owners, even programme graduates, are
Owner Trainers to some degree, don't you? By virtue of the customizing of
how you and your dog work together after returning home from being on class.
The maintenance and extension of what your dog does while guiding you. Think
about it, do you call your programme for every little hiccup between you and
your guide? Do you have a trainer following you around 24/7? No, of course
you don't. You rely on your experience, and the tools taught to you by
your programme. Sure, not everyone wants to, or is capable of going whole
hawg and going the whole nine yards to train your own Guide from scratch,
but you're still part of the Owner Trainer family. ...The lines have blurred
a bit for you haven't they? Muwahahaha!!!!

Yours, Very Sincerely And Respectfully,

Wayne M. Scace

For the millionth time, it is not the service dog that has access it is the
disabled handler!

It is the person with a disability that has access with a service dog. When
someone has a so-called fake service dog it is not the dog that is the fake
it is the handler faking a disability.
