I'm very happy about Taylor's work, so Taylor is taylored for a city
environment--smile.
I love being in big cities with my guide dog, I don't get that pleasure at
all recently but I do enjoy seeing the dogs work and guide me.

Subject: [NAGDU] Taylor update
Hi everyone,
Since I haven't posted in ages, I thought I'd send you a little update on
Taylor and me.
I hope this doesn't sound like bragging. It's not meant like that. kI'm just
happy about my boy and thought I'd share. :)
I live in a medium-sized city and was used to wkring my guide here.
One year ago, I met my new boyfriend who lives in Berlin. So Taylor and
I started travelling to our capital frequently. It was a totally new
experience for me to work a dog in such a busy city, I had never been on
the subway with him, never really walked down a platform or let him find
the door of an arriving train. I was totally lost in this huge city but
soon realized, my dog wasn't. He loved working there. He enjoyed finding
doors of trains that had just arrived. He guided me across the busiest
intersections where I was insecure because of all the traffic noise and
the many, many people.
I admire him because he never shows any signs of anxiety while walking
along a street with a lot of traffic or similar situations.
I discovered my dog is a real city boy. I knew he had been trained to
guide in bigger cities, too, but since we didn't work there together
since he was with me, I thought he'd probably forgotten most of these
tasks. I am still so proud of him because I am sure, I'd still be
completely overwhelmed in Berlin without him. But he is just cool. He
shows me the entrance of the subway and as soon as I find a seat, he
crawls under it and sleeps. When I get up to exit, he's full of joy to
show me the door and guide me safely down the platform to the stairs.
So during the past year, we have really learned a lot and I think we've
grown as a team immensely.
regards from Germany,
Lisa
