Dar:

You will have to be very firm with the doctor telling him that he must not
pet your dog once you have given her the command to stay. When I am in this
kind of situation, I remind the dog every few minutes with a calm command to
stay. You can also hold out your hand with the palm facing the dog and push
the hand in her direction while saying stay in a calm voice. If all else
fails, take a tie-down and hook her to the leg of something heavy enough
that she cannot pull it. Good luck.

Original When you give the dog down stay,
then get on table for treatment the doctor says hi to dog petting it
wich brings dog up and ready for jumping action because it is getting
spoken to.
Is there an hand signal one could use to bring the dog back down into a
stay with out getting up again.
That is the question.
