I wanted a new coat for Krokus, because he gets cold waiting for the bus in
the morning. I chose the Petcee waterproof climate changing blah-blah-blah
coat from Amazon. It was on sale for about $25. It has a fleece lining
with a nylon outer shell. It has a 3-inch collar, close with Velcro, and a
wide strip that goes between his legs and closes on each side with a long
Velcro strip. The openings for his legs are very roomy, so will not
restrict his movements. The belly part goes a bit farther back than I would
like, as Krokus is apt to pee on it, but I think I can fold it back a bit.
The whole thing appears to be well-made-at least it doesn't feel cheap. And
it comes in several colors. I picked red.

Krokus weighs about 60 pounds and measures 23 inches from the base of his
neck to the base of his tail, which makes him an XXXL in dog coats. The
coat I chose fits well. Before I went to Amazon, I went with a friend to
PetCo, and we tried dog coats on Krokus. The Wagatude was nice-thick, good
quality, and with a zipper up the back-but it only came up to XXL, and was
tight. The ?2Go Snowboard was good-fleece lining separate from the nylon
shell, so you could use either or both, and a double zipper up the back-but
it was tight in XXL and baggy in XXXL.

There were several with Velcro closures, but they only came halfway down his
sides, which is no good.

I hope the new jacket does the trick. The other day, a bus didn't come, and
we had to wait for the next. Krokus was shivering so, I sat on the bench
and picked him up so his paws wouldn't be on the cold ground and he'd get my
warmth. But he was still cold. Good thing for him we don't live in the
real Northland anymore.
