Hello,
I as some others do teach my dogs to find trash cans. This is however made more difficult and they are not as readily available I do like David's idea of the strap with clip so the bag is not being carried by the handler thank you!
As for walking in pairs, I am also similar to several of you in that I am the faster walker in the pair. I do also follow Ashley's idea of keeping some sort of verbal communication with my fellow traveler. Worst case scenario, we will agree to meet at the next curb and walk the block separately obviously, if one gets held up Buy a distraction or full sidewalk block etc. that can cause some trouble but then you just wait until your person reaches the curb with you before crossing.
Tracy, I agree with Joe's idea of trying to feed your dog it work that may associate a closer parking spot with receiving breakfast. Then of course clicking and treating when he relieves where it is safest. Also, marsha's idea of using and alley were dumpster as they tend to be quieter areas is good as well if those are readily available near your office. Good luck parking in the city can definitely be very difficult and is not always safe but certainly is necessary.
Thank you
Jessica
