I am so sorry for your loss. I have my first guide Sully so I have not experienced a loss yet. I have however had a loss of our family pet labs and it isn’t easy, I can't imagine how difficult it is for a guide dog!! I did give Sully an extra hug and a scratch behind the ear just for the memory of your pup!!
Thanks for sharing and take care, Janell and Sully

Subject: [NAGDU] Info For Laurie And News On Shep
Dear Lauri,
Feel free to contact me or one of the other folks who responded, and we would be glad to get you the specific info on the FHA laws. The TN Association of Guide Dog USers has a database of the laws, FAQ’s, and explanations on the laws.
I want to thank those who reached out to me and my family when. I shared with you Shep’s battle with cancer back in April. On Thursday, at 9:42 am, Shep took his last breath. The cancer had spread to his heart. They said his heart was enlarged. I always knew Shep had a big heart. Shep was instrumental in so many ways and inspired me to start TAGDU 5 years ago, as well as actively engaging in legislation and policies at Middle TN State University and Vanderbilt. Shep was a proud graduate of the Seeing Eye and strong federationist! Shep impacted the lives of so many college students, professors, and the many children we visited at schools. On September 9th, Shep would of been 7 years old. While his life was cut short, his impact on our hearts and lives will live on for many years to come! Never take the time you have with your guide for granted. Enjoy every adventure, every hug, every throw of their ball, and every memory that brings a smile to your face. Give your dogs an extra scratch behind the ears today. Next time you speak with a trainer or guide dog school, thank them for bringing you and your guide together and the special work that they do. May we never lose appreciation or take it for granted.Be safe. Stay cool. Love your guide.
Best,
James Alan Boehm
