Marianne,

According to the Americans with Disabilities Act, covered entities
include "an inn, hotel, motel, or other place of lodging, except for an
establishment located within a building that contains not more than five
rooms for rent or hire and that is actually occupied by the proprietor of
such establishment as the residence of such proprietor". (42 USC
12181(7)(A)) Therefore, even if the the building had only one room for rent
or hire - and it does not necessarily state it must be a sleeping room - if
the proprietor does not actually reside in the building, it is a covered
entity. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

Fraternally yours,

Subject: [NAGDU] Vacation rentals

We plan to rent a vacation home. It is a single family dwelling and the
owners do not live on the property. Someone other than the owner manages the
property. Can I take my guide dog with me to this rental property according
to the ADA?
