[NAGDU] religious organizations and guide dogs

Dan:

I agree. In no way will I tolorate anyone telling me I cnanot have my guide
dog with me. I have fought the battle many times and with the result of
having my dog with me on stage in musical theater and opera productions and
with live orchestra and choral concerts. It was extremely helpful to have
my dog guiding me to and from dressing rooms and safely around all the
obsticles back stage. As for church, I have had my dog with me as I sung
for weddings, funerals and many other kinds of solum religious services in
catholic, prodestant churches and even a few times in a jewish temple. If I
ever did want to attend the Morman temple, they would have a real fight on
their hands if they tried to refuse my dog. In the end if religious
organizations are really exempt because of the seperation of church and
state or the ADA, then if my dog is not welcome, then I do not wish to go
there. However, when all is said and done, we all have to make the
decisions that are right for us and to each his or own.

i don't really care if I know or not about the temple, our guide dogs
are our mobility aids and therefore I think it's appropriate for us to
make the decision, not a church, but of course you won't agree. But
we'll agree to disagree.
