That sounds like fun! We decided to introduce him to college football in stages. I will take him to highschool games first, then move him up to college level later.

I've taken my dogs to major league baseball games, with crowds around 44,000, and it hasn't been a problem. I've been glad of my dog's help, getting out of the stadium with so many people to maneuver through. But my dogs are city dogs, and used to crowds and noise.

Playing with the squeaky football during the football game on the radio sounds like fun. Krokus would approve.
Tracy

Hi,
Andy's wife here. We chose to stay home and tune in on the radio, and we are in half time. We do have the radio up pretty loud though, so Alec can get used to the noise at least from a distance. From our experience, the radio Mike's actually amplify the noise that is in the stadium, so we have found that the noise in the stadium is not as loud as it is coming through on the radio. I think our attendance is typically between 17,000-24,000 per game. We have also discovered in the past that if we do not sit in the student section, then it is even quieter.
Alec and his daddy get to play with the squeaky football while we listen to the game, because as Andy says, "if they can play football, then we can play football too."We plan to take him to some high school football games first, since the crowds aren't as big but it would get him used to the environment.
Thanks for all for your thoughts and advice!

Best wishes, Miranda

I assume his Blatter is smaller since he is only 23 months old, but I don’t know that for sure.. He whines and wipers when he wants to park, but will only put up with it for so long.

If you trust your dog will be fine, go for it. I don't understand why your dog would have to park that often though. Couldn't you park him right before you go to the game and then he would be good to go through the whole thing? The games usually don't go more than 3.5 hours, do they?

When we walk down the street, he isn’t bothered by backfiring cars and loud motorcycles. In fact, a 12 pack of Harley Hogs drove past us the other day, and he never flinched. He loves the sound of thunder, but hates the rain. Last week, we took him to the minor league playoffs game. He loved it, but we could only stay until the end of the 7th inning before he had to park.. He probably would have made it through the entire thing if I asked security to help me find a parking place for him. However, it was obvious that the local team would win, so we left early.. We took him to church one week. He had no problems with the large group of people and the concert style worship music at the beginning. I feel that he would make it though the entire game if security can help us during halftime with park time. Of course, this is based on his time at the baseball game and with loud street noises/stadium sounds. As a final note, I made him wear his gentle leader through the baseball game.

>>> Andy, we live less than half a mile from a baseball stadium that regularly has massive fireworks displays. They use a lot of the loud bang type fireworks. Claire doesn't pay any attention to them. She doesn't even react to cars that backfire less than 20 feet away, yet she can hear me pick up a leash or open a food drawer when she is asleep in a bedroom on the other side of the house. I would be more concerned about a rock concert than about fireworks. Concert volumes are closer and far more damaging to ears than the sound of fireworks explosions that are effectively 300 to 400 yards away even at the stadium, especially when you consider that they are exploding very high up in the sky.
>>>
>>> Of course, some dogs appear to be very sensitive to sharp noises. Our pet pup shakes when she hears thunder. A previous pet pup use to crawl into the bathtub or fireplace when she heard a car backfire, or heard thunder in the distance.
>>>
>>> I would never take Claire to a gun range, or to a rock concert as I feel the volumes are simply too high, but I do take her to the ball park. She enjoys watching the fireworks in the sky. She is a genius in crowds and I wouldn't dream of going there with my cane instead of Claire Rose.
