Hi Brenda.
Is that the famous Ortiz, aka Big Puppy, named for David Ortiz of the Red
Sox? What a fine name!
Glad everything is going well.
Tracy

Hello List

I enjoy reading posts but usually don't post because I'm not on my pc much
and still adjusting to a new screen reader in the absence of Window Eyes,
and I don't like dictating emails on my iPhone. Additionally, there was
holidays, then preparing for class, going to class and returning home and
adjusting to my new life with my awesome Seeingeye Dog Ortiz.

I was a first-time handler in the February class at the Seeing eye. I was
concerned that snow would cause plane delays arriving or returning and that
class would be piled with snow. We did have snow, but we had a sample of
all four seasons.

On Dog Day, we did not go on the usual first walk in town due to the
icey-snowy conditions, but that was the worst of it. I think the March class
had it worse than we did.

My dog Ortiz is a yellow lab-golden back cross (3/4 lab, 1/4 goldin I
think). He is a sweetheart, and his work is excellent. The folks at TSE did
an excellent job in matching me with Ortiz. The Seeing Eye is an excellent
school. I was concerned that I would gain a lot of weight due to the
delicious food, but I have actually lost a couple pounds. Walking is so much
more relaxing and fluid (even in the cold) with a dog instead of a cane.

Brenda from Ashtabula
and my Awesome Seeing eye Dog Ortiz
