It is a good oil and it shouldn't do any harm. I use a shampoo with the shea
butter in it.

Hi I am not familiar with what shay butter is. Can you inform me? Is it
something that if the dog licks it that they will be alright? My dog likes
to lick. She is constantly grooming her self. It took me a while to figure
out that is what she was doing. Its just one of her traits.

I recommend the use of a good shay butter. there are some natural ones on
Amazon, and they work quite well for those, as well as for the nose if your
dog has a dry nose.
