If I learned anything from us going through the flood a few years ago. That would be you need to make sure that the dog food you are bringing is in a waterproof container. Is your blood bag is fine but I can guarantee you from personal experience a dog food bag will get wet and you will have wet food. I would personally also recommend if your dog has shoes take them with you because things move around when floods happened and you never know what your dog could wind up stepping in. I would also like Cindy said take food a favorite toy something for him to sleep on. The crate would be OK if you have space but if not something that smells like home maybe a towel or a blanket or something that is familiar because if you guys end up in a shelter that is going to be a very unfamiliar place. Also make sure he has all of his identification information. You also need to have yours as well. I would also recommend if you have any equipment assistive technology equipment, try to protect it as best you can. The simplest way I have heard of this is putting it in a trash bag. It sounds weird but if it gets exposed to water you will have a very difficult if not impossible time getting it replaced or repaired.

Vaccination records are crucial. If you do not have those they might not let you guys in the shelter with the dog.
Think of your dog as another person so bring everything they’d need including medication and insurance information.
