I know how hard it has to be retiring Zeb. It's hard to believe he is 9 years old. It would be good if the family you will be
visiting can adopt him. Glad you have the replacement started.

It was tough to retire Ivanna, but she let me know it was time to hang up the harness. I have a black Labrador retriever, Velvet,
and we were partnered on November 29th. She is doing well.

Hi everyone.  Thought that I would post an update since I have not posted
for quite a while.  I wanted to let you all know that Zeb will be retiring
within the year.  He will be 9 in June and is slowing down.  I have put in
an application to GDB and so far have the phone interview done.  I will get
my physical next Thursday and have my home interview in April.  Zeb will be
adopted when he retires.  I would love to keep him but it wouldn't be
practical as he would be in my apartment all day while I'm at work which
isn't a good idea.  Next week while I'm off for spring break, I will be
going to my coworker's house to meet the kids and check out the place and
will decide from there.  If I can't find a home here his raisers will take
him back but I'm hoping that I can have him close by so that I can see him.
This whole thing is tearing me up but sometimes loving is letting go.  Other
than that, it's hard to believe that another school year is going by
quickly.  I will take the summer off to hang with Zeb and will enjoy plenty
of relaxation time and leisurely things.
