[NAGDU] [nagdu] training in Manhattan and new dog

Hi Danielle.
Thanks for satisfying my curiosity. I know that general area. Actually, I was around there in training, too. I remember Krokus looking at a carriage horse, although not in a real distracted way. It was later the trouble started. It was that city trip where he figured out he could snatch something off the ground before I could stop him, a lesson he's never forgotten.

Krokus was born between Eva and Jackie, on Valentine's Day! Pretty funny. He was about the age Jackie is, too, and a real handful. He's still a bit mischievous, but not the hellhound he used to be.
Good luck with your new pup.
Tracy

Yes, I went to GDF for the October 22nd class. The Lighthouse Guild,
which I think is located on 64th Street, offers them an empty
conference room where students who are not training can wait, and then
students have some options of where to walk from there. My route went
to Central Park.

I received a female Golden named Jackie. Her birthday is 2/22/17.
She's 23 in tall and about 60 lbs (I've gotten three different weights
on three different scales). My instructor warned me she was going to
be a challenge which she certainly is. I remember the trainer telling
me that the expression "give her an inch and she'll take a mile"
wasn't accurate--I can't even give her a quarter of an inch. Despite
how sassy Jackie can be, I think she'll mature into a great dog...
eventually. She's such a happy girl and she'll make it a point to show
you any place you've been once. There are some situations where she
actually refuses kibble as food rewards, which is fine but totally
weird compared to food obsessed Thai. We still have a few things to
work through, but I think she finally decided that since her trainer
is gone, she might as well listen to me.

I kept a blog during training if anyone is interested.
