[NAGDU] light weight harness

What are the advantages of the lighter weight harness?  Would it make our dogs more comfortable or perhaps make the handler more comfortable because of the reduced weight of the harness?  I use a nylon harness when my dog goes swimming but the fit isn't exactly perfect.
